Car Buying Tips - Buying a Car in United States Instead of Canada
By Dennise Ryder

It s a hot topic right now, the topic of buying a car in United States instead of Canada. Many Canadian s in the market for a new car see the differences in MSRP (manufacturer s suggested retail price) between a car in Canada and the same car in the United States. That difference in many cases makes the case of buying a car in the United States instead of Canada that much stronger and many are making the hop over the border or researching online to check things out.

Buying a car in United States isn t as easy as it may seem. Many Canadian s think all they have to do is buy the car, pay the duty and voila they are on their way to saving HUGE!

In addition to the paying of the duty there are a few other hurdles Canadian s have to overcome when. Here is just a quick low down of what you need to consider if you are thinking about buying a new car:

1. Dealerships have a franchise agreement which prohibits them from selling cars to anyone outside of the country. I have heard stories of people actually finding dealerships who will break their franchise agreements, but it is a challenge.

2. The new car you buy is going to be cash because you won t be able to qualify for US financing or leasing rates and any rebates are not applicable to you.

3. If you were contemplating on using your current car as a trade you might face a challenge again. The US market if “fat” with used cars and may not even want to consider your car in the deal.

4. If you live close to a border crossing then making the trek over a few times isn t such a hardship for you, but, if you leave further away plan on making a few weekend trips and add that expense into the mix.

5. If you are thinking about buying a car in the United States instead of Canada know that there are equipment modifications you need to make to the vehicle you can check them out here Buying a car in United States instead of Canada

6. Check with Transport Canada and Canada Customs to make sure the car you are looking at 18 Tips For Privately Buying A Second Hand Car

Buying a car in United States instead of Canada may seem better when comparing MSRPs between the United States and Canada but there is a lot more you need to consider. Make sure you do your research not only on the car but also what requirements you need to look at.

The Country Pop Music Car

The Country Pop Music Car
By Vijayashri Sudhakar

This 1959 to 1960 Chevy model wore a badge in Mexico as the “Chevrolet Conquistador”. This is how one seller tagged his grand old car at an auction center. El Camino, which literally means in Spanish as “The Road,” is actually a coupe utility car but considered in North America as a truck. Five generations of the El Camino came out of Chevrolet s assembly lines from 1959 to 1987.

It s an old car, no doubt about that. But it is kept alive by musicians in the alternative rock, pop punk and country music genres. Actually, it is a car much talked about in pop culture. Ween, a 1984 alternative rock group, featured the Chevy model as a subject of their song “El Camino”. A 1992 Indie rock group known as Grandaddy featured it in “El Caminos in the West”. “Feels Just Like It Should” by Pat Green opens with the line “Let s jump in my El Camino.”

Reminisce your happy days with El Camino with all these great songs listed by Wikipedia. These are not-so-old songs yet the featured model dates back to 1959. There is “69 El Camino” by Southern Culture on the Skids, “Good Night To Be Lonely” by Mark Chesnutt, “What s Not to Love” by Blue County, “Something To Believe In” by John Rich, “Jalapeno” by Big &amp Rich, “Sister” by Cross Canadian Ragweed, “Dirty Girl” by Terri Clark, “Lake Charles” by Lucinda Williams, “Rachel s Song” by James McMurtry, “It Takes A Man” by Aaron Lines, “What I Like About Texas” by Jerry Jeff Walker, “Ballad Of Tommy and Marla” by Kelly Reckless, “Lucky 4 You” by SHeDAISY and “Fat Lip” by Sum 41. That must have been a long list of El Camino musical journal you are out to download for your i-Pod or portable mp3 player.

If you still have that vintage coupe moving, you should be a proud owner. Award yourself with a badge - a Chevrolet El Camino Keychain. This illustrious bauble is made up of genuine black leather plated with Silver or Gold, circular Chrome plates or oval stainless steel plates topped by a gem-lime crystallite dome that is somewhat opaque, bearing the Chevy logo and the model name El Camino.

The El Camino may have got that seemingly bad rap, associating this car with ethnic and class stereotypes.
